Bunker — Map Location Guide
The military bunker is a high-tier dungeon-style location added in The Walking Dead Online 3 V3 update. Access requires a bunker keycard looted from military zones — see our bunker key guide. This page covers the bunker entrance on the world map, interior layout basics, loot expectations, and why the bunker rivals helicopter crashes for end-game PvP intensity.
Finding the Entrance
The bunker entrance is marked by a reinforced hatch or blast door set into remote terrain away from Woodbury suburbs — typically near military-themed landmarks. Approach from roads when driving vehicles; on foot, travel with a squad and meds. The keycard reader glows or prompts interaction (E on PC) when you are close. Players camp this door — listen for footsteps before inserting your key.
Interior Layout
Inside, narrow corridors connect storage rooms, armory shelves, and occasional medical caches. Lighting is dim — adjust brightness settings on mobile. Corridors funnel movement, favoring defenders with SMGs and shotguns from our weapon tier list. Clear room-by-room; rushing invites ambush from players hiding behind corners.
- Armory wing — Firearms including AK-47 and ACR tier rolls.
- Supply closets — Bandages, food, jerry cans.
- Armor racks — Plate carriers and tactical gear.
- Exit hatch — Know your escape path before looting deep.
Loot Priority & Extraction
With only 20 inventory slots (30 with backpack), prioritize weapons → plate carrier → meds → ammo. Drop low-tier food if you must. Extract toward Sanctuary or your squad vehicle. Read complete loot runs for timed extraction drills. If killed inside, your keycard and loot drop — teammates should cover body recovery.
The bunker is louder than open-field PvP — gunfire echoes and attracts third parties at the door.
