Walkie-Talkie — Communication Guide
The walkie-talkie is V3 Beta's squad communication layer — press T to broadcast voice or text to players on the same channel, with a green dot indicating an active radio. Used correctly it replaces chaotic global chat for loot squads pushing Police Department, helicopter crashes, or the bunker.
Basics — Press T
- Equip or hold walkie-talkie loot from suburban spawns or PD.
- Press T (PC) to transmit — hold while speaking if voice chat enabled.
- Green dot on HUD means radio is powered and receiving.
- Coordinate extraction, car pickups, and PvP warnings without typing.
Squad Best Practices
Assign one caller for combat and one for logistics (fuel, crafting mats). On RP servers, keep transmissions in-character. On Default PvP servers, never reveal bunker keycard ownership on open channel — players will hunt you. Combine with groups for formal squad markers.
