Hunger & Survival Stats — TWD Online 3
V3 Beta adds visible survival stats — health and hunger in the lower-left HUD. Unlike legacy TWD Online, you cannot ignore food indefinitely: hunger depletion leads to health penalties during long loot routes. This guide covers food priority, Alexandria farming, slow out-of-combat regen, and how hunger changes your loadout planning.
Reading the HUD
Health shows current HP including plate carrier bonus (+50 HP). Hunger drops as you sprint, fight, and travel. When hunger is low, prioritize food over weapon upgrades — a dead survivor carries zero loot.
Best Food Sources
- Alexandria — Fridges and pantries; top food POI.
- Farmland / Farmhouse — Early-game snacks before military pushes.
- Residential kitchens in King County and Woodbury.
- Crafted consumables when recipes expand — see crafting.
Health Regeneration
Community testing confirms slow health regeneration out of combat — bandages still burst-heal faster for PvP escapes. Carry at least three bandages plus crafted backups on every National Guard run.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does thirst exist separately?
Yes — the July 2026 V3 build tracks thirst independently from hunger. Water Bottle (+10) and Soda Can (+5) restore thirst; see our thirst guide.
